MENTAWAI ISLAND ADVENTURE
10 DAYS/ 09 NIGHTS
(By Mentawai Fast: Tuesday to Thursday, Thursday to Saturday)
DAY 01: PADANG – MUARA SIBERUT (D)
Boarding in Muara Harbor at 6 AM in the morning, sailing to Muara Siberut.
Arrival at Muara Siberut making report to police station and after lunch we're go to the local village by small boat about 2 hours. It’s depend on the depth of water in the river.
Stay overnight at local house
DAY 02: THE NATIVE’S VILLAGE (B,L,D)
After having breakfast exploring the daily activities of Mentawai Tribe such as: hunting, fishing, making sago powder (as the main food of Mentawaian Tribe), when you are lucky you have chance to see the traditional dances of Mentawai during the ceremonies in the evening.
DAY 03: WALKING TO ANOTHER VILLAGE (B,L,D)
After breakfast walking to Butui about 5 hours. Most of the time walking in the mud and swampy area and crossing the river, you can’t expect to get dry shoes during Walking. Overnight at Butui at Native’s House together with them.
DAY 04: JOINING THE NATIVE’S ACTIVITIES (B,L,D)
Today we will see the Native’s how they survive their life, such as process of making sago powder as their main meal, looking for caterpillars which live in rotten wood as the delicious meals for the Native, collecting taro, etc. Overnight at the same house.
DAY 05: ONE DAY ACTIVITIES AT HOME (B,L,D)
The Native’s will show to you how they make tattoo or other ornament, how they Make poison arrow, making basket for collecting fruit, and other equipment what they need to survive their life.
DAY 06: WALKING TO ROROGOT (B,L,D)
When the water shallow we have to walk to rorogot about 6 hours. Overnight at native’s house.
DAY 07: WALKING TO ANOTHER VILLAGE (B,L,D)
In the morning free at own pleasure together with the native’s people and walking to the other village (Sakalio) about 2,5 hours. Overnight at native’s house
DAY 08: SAKALIO VILLAGE (B,L,D)
Exploring the native’s activities at Sakalio such as: to see how they make Loin Clothes from the Bark of tree, Making Tattoos, Bow and Poison Arrow, Etc.
DAY 09: TAKING MOTORIZE CANOE TO MASILOK BEACH (B,L,D)
After breakfast taking Motorize canoe back to Muara Siberut and directly Small Island of Masilok with white sandy beach and coral reef good for Snorkeling and swimming, in the evening enjoy barbeque of the fish. Overnight At the simple cottage on the beach.
DAY 10: MASILOK-MUARA SIBERUT-PADANG (B,L,D)
After breakfast we go to Muara Harbor by small boat and sailing back to Padang at 3 PM (15.00) about 3 - 3,5 hours. Arrive in Padang, transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.
